Kostya Miska, CEO of Hirio, who did not only present the concept of a startup but also shared the ambitious plans for the future.
What is Hirio?
Hirio is a no-code cloud recruiter. We help companies that have a high volume of applicants streamline and automate the hiring process. We’ve seen a gap in the market in solutions that are focusing on blue-collar workers.
How did you come up with this idea?
There are 2,7 billion deskless workers globally. For companies and workers, it creates so much stress when it comes to applying for a job and screening applications. That is why we decided to create Hirio, a platform for volume hiring automation.
A brief summary of market you work in
We are building a global leader in the retail jobs industry. It counts almost 1 billion people who work as a cashier or a warehouse worker.
Competitive advantages of Hirio in the market you work in
Hirio allows recruiters to create a digital application process for a job in minutes to increase the time to hire by 200%.
It empowers recruiters with pre-designed templates for repetitive tasks and provides them with a library of more than 100 scripts to screen candidates.
Tell us about your team and how did you meet?
We are 2 co-founders. We’ve known each other for 5 years.
Together with my co-founder we already built up 2 tech companies. We met in 2014 when I was working on my startup in Ukraine. Artem joined our team as a Mobile developer.
I’ve sold this business to another company and joined it as VP of Marketing. Later on, Artem joined us as a Lead mobile engineer and we’ve worked together for 2 years in this company.
Share your most memorable story related to your customers
We are working with a big supermarket chain in Ukraine. At first, we had to show them why they need our solution. So we decided to apply for a vacancy as a cashier by ourselves. We sent an application and waited for 2 weeks to receive a reply.
At the interview, I had to fill a lot of papers to apply for the job. Then I called the HR Director of this company and described the process. After that, they became very interested in the technology solution to streamline the hiring process and increase the hiring speed.
Where do you see your startup in five years?
Our mission is to help people find their dream job and companies to find their dream workers. We make it real by bringing AI to automate volume hiring, a process that has barely changed in the last 50 years.
In a period of 5 years, we are going to help millions of workers and thousands of companies find to be a perfect match for each other.
What are your biggest challenges at the moment?
At the moment, we are struggling to close deals with enterprise companies faster since they have a very complicated decision-making process.
That’s why we are aiming to build a first-class product showing clear value to the customers and helping them make decisions on a very transparent basis.
